It doesn't make you a criminal, but without it you can sound dumb.
The issue with me is that my friend always would get on me about my grammar and treat it like as if I had just killed someone infront of her, its a misplaced comma not a murder investigation! I've even tried to correct my issues with it but every teacher I've talk to says that I make the same ammount of mistakes with grammar as anyone esle.
